COCO PALM DHUNIKOLHU: Magic in the Maldives |
 |
|
The Maldivian island of Coco Palm
Dhunikolhu is situated in the Baa Atoll, a good 30 minutes seaplane
flight from the capital of Male. General Manager Julian Moore: "Many
of the resorts in the Maldives have placed there emphasis on design,
other on creating a Robinson-Crusoe-like experience for their guests.
We have set our stall out somewhere in-between the two." On visiting
the island, we discovered that in-between world really does have a
charm of its very own. |

TAJ EXOTICA MAURITIUS: Realm for
daydreamers |
 |
|
Our dreams guide us on our serach
for the lost paradise. And this time they have taken us to an idyllic
island world with green palm trees, fine sandy beaches, impossibly
blue seas and an eternal summer. Mauritius, the shining diamond in the
Indian Ocean, is everything and more that you ever imagined the Garden
of Eden would be. And nowhere could this be more true than when
residing in one of the 65 luxury villas located directly on one of the
island's most beautiful beaches at the Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, a new
flagship of the prestigious Taj Hotels Group. |

THE SAROJIN: Take it easy |
 |
|
With its centuries-old culture and
tropical splendour, the promise of experiencing nature at its most
natural in the jungle, its unspoilt beaches and secluded bays,
meditative tranquillity and plenty of "SANUK" (Fun), Thailand's south
still casts a magic spell. Despite the setbacks caused by the tsunami
the year before last, it still offers delightfully exotic holidays and
wonderfully luxurious residences such as the The Sarojin, north of
Khao Lak. Boasting direct access to the beach, a very individual
service philosophy, modern design and the Pathways Spa's programme of
pampering, the boutique hotel that just opened in October 2005 has
managed to secure a place alongside the very best Thai luxury resorts. |

right proportions and at the very highest of standards. Here " the
science of life" - in short Ayurveda - is applied in the same location
as it was born 5000 years ago.

AL RAHA BEACH HOTEL: Arabian zeitgeist |

According to an Arabic proverb "all sunshine makes
the desert". And Abu Dhabi, the largest of the United Arab Emirates,
has more than its fair share of desert. Yet this is not something you
would notice immediately when visiting the country's capital of the
same name. The Emirate of Abu Dhabi is attracting tourists from across
the world with a large number of excellent hotels. The opening of the
Al Raha Beach Hotel one year ago marked the introduction of the first
five-star boutique hotel on the periphery of this fascinating
metropolis. |
